The Crown Inn at Grewelthorpe is very much a locals’ local. Appealing to those in search of value for money food and drink, both are in ample supply here. In an attractive setting close to the village duck pond we are not really surprised to have been discovered by tourists to these parts who enjoy a drink, a meal and then decide to linger longer in one of our en-suite guest bedrooms.

A feature of our well stocked bar is the range of four real ales on sale at any one time, another feature being our food menu.  Consisting where possible of fresh locally sourced produce we offer an excellent choice with ample alternatives for vegetarians. Both drinks and food are served in the Crown’s impressive stone clad bar and dining areas where another feature is the solid dark wood furniture and the two log burning fires. During warmer weather we have tables and chairs outside the main entrance to the Crown.

We have ample car parking and guests staying with us have comfortable en-suite rooms with colour television, beverage making facilities and central heating.  The following morning they are offered a breakfast choice including a full, hearty English option and of course situated where we are, many base their short break here travelling with ease to the Yorkshire Dales, the Moors and the surrounding attractive villages, towns and cities.

The bar is open:   12 noon – 2.00 pm and 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm (ish!)
Food is available: 12 noon – 2.00 pm (every day except Monday)
And every evening between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm

All this changes on Sunday when our roast lunch is served between 12 noon and 2:00 pm. and again from 6:00 till 8:00.

Fine wines are available to accompany your meal and as our food is becoming increasingly popular it is always advisable, if at all possible, to book your table in advance.
